Rachael Sage will visit the British Isles from April to May to support Irish phenom Imelda May; Poetica releases official self-titled album “engagement” video to coincide with tour

NEW YORK, March 28, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Rachel Sage just released an official video for “engagement” from his musical/spoken collaborative record Poetic (MPress Records), just in time for her return to the UK and Ireland proof irish folk/Rockabilly singer Imelda Mai on his Made To Love tour. Opening on April 2the 6 week tour will travel all around the British Isles, visiting the likes of from Dublin Vicar Street, from Edinburgh meeting rooms, and London Palladium. The video was created in Skope Magazine (United States) and Mainly Pop (UK), and was featured in the famous dance review.

Sage says, “Imelda is everything I admire and strive to be in an artist: musically accomplished, sincere, an incredible singer, performer, writer, dynamic, eclectic, collaborative, and just as importantly, she is extremely Conscious, compassionate, inclusive and standing up for her beliefs, she is clearly a strong, courageous and adventurous artist who will not be defined by any particular genre, who continues to change and follow her muse wherever she takes her.

“commitment”, to Poeticthe recent self-titled debut album from, is a striking collaboration between singer-songwriter/musician/poet/producer Rachel Sage and Grammy®-nominated cellist Dave Eggar, with a featured performance by world-renowned klezmer clarinetist David Krakauer. Stunning New ‘Engagement’ Video Features Contemporary Broadway Dancers Khadija Griffith (“King Kong”) and Ryan Steel (“An American In Paris”) performing this clarinet- and string-infused spoken word piece with semi-improvised emotional movement. Directed by the choreographer and filmmaker Sarah O’Gleby (whose credits include the Tony Awards, various Broadway shows and numerous jimmy fallon numbers), and edited by the photographer and video creator Tom Moorethe black-and-white clip is simultaneously moody, beautiful, and heartbreaking, as we see two individuals struggle to connect and comfort each other through the various stages of a relationship.

Although largely abstract, the dance component effectively supports Poetica’s dark lyricism and rustic edge to the video. Hudson Valley the location provides the perfect backdrop for this room, which is central to the trials we put ourselves through in order to forge and maintain an authentic connection. Now more than ever, “engagement” inspires us to understand ourselves more deeply by creating a striking visualization of perhaps the most sensual act of all: listening.

Sage explains, “It was so exciting working with Sarah O’Gleby on the ‘engagement’ video, because she’s a strong, visionary creator who is so good at telling stories through movement. Her background as a choreographer is hugely impressive, but when we realized she was now working as a director, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to collaborate. Our goal was to shoot a short film that wasn’t just visually beautiful – while being simple and essential – but which would distill the spoken-word content into a specific and personalized relationship for the viewer. The chemistry of our dancers – Khadija Griffith and Ryan Steel – was immediately striking, and they were both so brave in conveying the vulnerability required by this material. It was a pleasure to work with this dream team and shoot in the beautiful Hudson Valley added an element of magic that Sarah masterfully captured, and Tom Moore brilliantly edited.”
